Need somewhere very reasonable to stay in Manhattan for about two weeks while my boyfriend has neurosurgery. The dates are from June 15 thru approx.June 30th.I will be spending most of my time at the hospital,so I’m not concerned with how nice the accomodations are–only that they are safe, clean and private. Thanks!
Why not stay at your boyfriends apartment? If he is having surgery he won’t be there.

Many hospitals offer “hospitality rooms”. They are basically unused hospital rooms that they rent for a very, very low rate. I stayed in one when my daughter was ill after being born. It is nice, cause you are right there. I would call them ahead and check on it.
Even if they don’t offer them, they can probably tell you the nearest affordable accommodations.
In New York City, cheap hotel rooms are measured in the hundreds per night. So you should plan on spending anywhere from $2,000 to $3,000 easy.
Take a sleeping bag and sleep on the floor by his bed if you are a tad strapped for that kind of cash.
Hey! If you don;t mind sleeping in the same room as others and you’re on a tight budget, try a Hostile. There is one I’ve stayed in several times named, “Jazz on the Town.” It is right in the Village, not far from NYU (About a 10 min walk) and a bed is about $25/night. You get a room which you share with five other people. Co-ed, but the other people were very nice and clean when I stayed. You get a shower and bathroom per room. Nicer than any cheap hotel in the City. Good luck!
