Has anybody had gastric bypass surgery & gained the weight back?

I had gastric bypass in 2001 and since had 2 kids. With my son (he’s 4.5months old) i can’t seem to lose all of my baby weight. I gained like 20lbs, and then after having him I lost like 15lbs, but immediately gained it back and it’s slowly continuing to creep on more and more. Did you gain ur weight back? Did you fight and keep it off?

  1. Finally Realizing I Have Beauty says:

my ex-boyfriend did that because he was too fat…
and he gained it all back because he didn’t keep a steady diet

Before my surgery, we went through 6 months of nutrition classes specific to bariatrics. We were taught that if we begin to eat foods free of nutrients, drink caloried drinks, eat foods rich in sauces, then our daily caloric intake will increase, and we will begin to gain weight.

If you are not breast feeding, try the 5 day pouch test (5daypouchtest.com) to get your diet back in gear. If you are breast feeding, then for heaven’s sake, care for the baby first, then get back on track. Protein first, veggies next, fruit last.

The surgery, we were taught, was “just” a tool. Calorie restriction is forever, just as it would be for any dieter caring to maintain a healthy weight for life.

Hang in there. Go to renewedreflections.com and share your story there. Nice gals and guys there with kindness and great ideas. :)
