What is it like being a pediatrician?

I love kids so I’ve been looking into pediatrics, pediatric surgery, neonatal, or neonatal surgery. So can anyone tell me about pediatrics or any of the specialties I’ve listed. What I really want to know are things like how hard is it to get accepted into schools to becoming a pediatric surgeon, medical school. Which schools are good for medicine majors?
